Hacker News user jayfantastic was able to find a $100 trading coupon that was advertised on the Chinese online retailer Oriental Trading on June 8.
The coupon was sold on June 9 for $200, but it wasn’t immediately available for purchase.
The price was listed on the Oriental Trading website as $199, which seems to be a discount on the original advertised price of $299.
The discount coupon also mentions that “the coupon is valid through June 24, 2019” meaning that this is only a temporary promotion.
Oriental Trading has a history of promoting its discount coupons, which have been widely used by Chinese consumers to get a discount and often lead to discounts.
For example, a recent promotion offered a $50 discount coupon on iPhones and iPads.
A similar coupon was available to get free shipping on the iPhone X. Hacker News user calebpf had also been able to get the coupon, and he reported that the offer included “free shipping on your first order.”
The coupon can be redeemed for the new Apple iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.
This was a major hit for the Chinese, who have been making their first-time purchases at a faster rate.
Apple’s own iPhone 8s, 8 Plus, and 8s Plus have been popular among Chinese buyers in recent months.
Apple has not yet confirmed whether the discount is valid in China.
